The Icicle Works — британская рок-группа, образованная в 1980 году в Ливерпуле, Англия, и названная по рассказу Фредерика Пола «The Day the Icicle Works Closed» (1960). Icicle Works, исполнявшие гитарный инди-рок с размашистыми аранжировками и первую известность получившие на волне британской «новой психоделии» (Echo & the Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, Wah!)^[1], выпустили шесть студийных альбомов, пять из которых входили в британские чарты. В UK Singles Chart наивысшего результата группа добилась с «Love Is A Wonderful Colour» (#15, 1983).^[2] Сингл «Whisper to a Scream» в 1984 году стал американским хитом (#37, Billboard Hot 100)^[3]

После распада группы в 1990 году вокалист Иэн Макнэбб начал сольную карьеру. В 2006 году он реформировал Icicle Works, группа провела короткие гастроли, а год спустя выступила на фестивале GuilFest. Декабрьское турне 2007 года, однако, получило в целом негативную прессу и группа распалась вновь.
